San Diego Middle Eastern Dance Association (SAMEDA)
Sept. 15, 2020
Dear SAMEDA Members,
It has been a long six months since the start of Quarantine. We hope to find you in good health! I can honestly tell you that I was scared and felt panic when Covid was first announced. Thankfully, we are all following safety instructions such as wearing the mask, keeping safe social distancing, taking vitamins, resting and exercising in safe zones. We now know that Covid can be manifested as a simple cold or bad flu. We also know that some may die. Also, there are people who are asymptomatic (carry the virus and infect others) and show no symptoms themselves.
We don’t know if and when Covid will be over, or if we will ever have normalcy. For right now we have to do the best we can. Because of this, we are again postponing SAMEDA Faire until July 2021.
We miss all of you and we miss our normal dance activities. We have had a few Zoom (Lucia hosted a few) shows in the community and some teachers are teaching through Zoom or Live Video.
We at SAMEDA would like to invite you to send us a performance video of YOU (2 1/2 minute limit) and a short Bio so that we can share here. Or, you can send us one of YOU teaching (Meleah and Nataliya from Russian Oriental Dance Studio have shared some). Tell us of any “open space” dance events/lessons that you hear happening in the community so that we can share the information.
Please email to: anabellydancer@hotmail.com
We will keep you informed of the Covid situation in regards to SAMEDA. We send you our warmest regards and will be keeping in touch! Call or email me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
SAMEDA
Ana Goebel, President
